  • Spoken languages

Household Data

  • Information about your home

  • Pet-related housing rules

Pet Data

Details about your pets, such as:

  • Type and breed

  • Behaviour and temperament

  • Health information and medication needs

  • Photos

Care Preferences

  • Availability

  • Comfort levels

  • Travel range

  • Types of pets you can care for

Emergency Information

  • Emergency contacts

  • Veterinary contact information

Profile Information

  • Optional headline

  • Additional profile photo

  • “About Me” text visible to other members

Automatically Collected Data

Automatically collected data is used to improve our service and maintain platform security.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Set up and manage your account

  • Personalize your profile and community experience

  • Connect you with suitable members for pet-sitting exchanges

  • Support trust and safety by verifying eligibility and suitability

  • Enable emergency contact if an incident occurs during a sit

  • Track Kadoga Points (KP) balances

  • Send updates, confirmations, and newsletters (only with your consent)

  • Improve our services

4. Sharing Your Information

Member-to-member Visibility (Profile Pages)

When you create a Kadoga member profile, most information you provide—such as display name, profile photo, languages, general location, pet details, availability, and your “About Me” section—is visible to all authenticated Kadoga members inside the members-only area. This visibility enables browsing the community, evaluating potential sitters or hosts, and building trust.

We never display your email address.

Email Sharing for Introductions

If you and another member decide to explore a possible pet sit, Kadoga will share your email address with that specific member so that you can communicate directly, arrange a meeting, and confirm the sit.

Emergency and Veterinary Details

Emergency contacts and vet information are shared with the member caring for your pet during a confirmed sit, solely for safety purposes.

Service Providers

We share the minimum necessary personal information with trusted service providers who help us operate Kadoga. This includes services for hosting the platform, storing data, delivering emails, processing forms, and handling payments.

Kadoga requires service providers to protect your information and to use it only for the purposes of supporting Kadoga.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Kadoga stores and processes personal information in Canada, the United States, and the European Union. 

If your information is transferred outside Canada, it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, or regulatory authorities under the laws of those jurisdictions.

Kadoga takes reasonable steps to ensure that your information remains protected, no matter where it is processed.

No Selling of Data

We do not sell your information.

5. How Long We Keep It

  • Account data: For as long as you are a member, plus a reasonable retention period (typically up to 3 years).

  • Financial records: As required by Canadian law (usually up to 7 years).

Under PIPEDA and provincial law, you may contact us at any time to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you

  • Correct or update your information

  • Withdraw consent (for optional uses such as newsletters)

  • Request deletion of your account
